D'oh!

So I'm walking from my car to work and I look down at my feet and then continue walking. Then I do a double-take.

I didn't.

Oh yes I did.

What did I do? Only wear a shoe from one pair on my right foot and another pair on my left.

Why? Okay, so it's not like I put on a red pump and then a hiking boot at the same time. Since I usually wear a dark blue uniform, we wear black work shoes. So while probably not noticable to anyone who didn't stare at my feet and wonder why one shoe was more scuffed than the other, it probably wasn't a great big deal.

But to me? When I realzed what I had done, not only did I feel stupid, my feet felt uncomfortable because one was more worn than the other. Going back home and getting the right shoe wasn't really a viable option as it would have taken another hour and probably wouldn't have been worth the extra hour I'd have to stay at work on a Friday night.

So I sucked it up and went to work. I stayed in the office for the most part and I don't know that anyone really realized I was walking around in socks.

Sheesh.

Tee hee! I'm glad others have those cluster moments, too! Given how most people at work are pretty much caught up in their own little world, I'm sure noone even looked at your feet. :)

Hee! I don't think anyone did - or at least if they did they didn't say anything. It's all one step worse than wearing one black sock and one blue sock LOL.

One black sock and one blue sock. I'm ashamed to admit that's happened to me. Being colorblind and living alone led to some interesting and unfortunate combinations at least until I had the sense to rebuild my wardrobe in variations of the same two or three colors.

Many years ago there was someone in the Admin Branch who actually wore one blue pump and one mustard-colored pump to a meeting. That was comedy relief for a few weeks...so at least you weren't that bad off!
