BBQ Frenzy
Jul. 2nd, 2005 09:47 amWe usually have a big 4th of July barbecue, complete with 15-20 family and friends. This year, some family was out of town so we figured that after inviting and not hearing any response -- that they weren't coming.
Until yesterday morning, when our projected small dinner of 5 people turned into 12.
It was a good thing my cousin called, because we were on the way to the meat market and were about to cross the point of no return between 'barbecue' and 'potluck'.
So now it's a barbecue again, and we've got brisket and pulled pork in my new smoker; plus homemade ice cream and all kinds of other goodies. Except we have three days to prepare where we normally have a week. Yikes!
And so begins the weekend of rushing to Get it All Done.
Oh, and on another note, this is my case. I'm quite proud of it!
