Tale of misery and woe

I must be allergic to July and August.

Been nursing a sinus / allergy related headache for the better part of two weeks now. Downing sudafed like it's Halloween candy and popping ibuprofen and acetaminophen much the same (though not at the same time, natch). Right now it feels like someone went spear-fishing through my ears. My eyes are bothering me to the point that my glasses aren't strong enough to compensate -- and this is from someone who doesn't need glasses 80% of the time. Whatever is happening now laughs at my almighty Zyrtech and resists any other feeble medications I may throw at it.

I suspect it's grass - the single outdoor allergen that turns my sinuses into a nuclear winter. Gah. Don't know what to do about it, either as I've been on allergy shots for over a year and while overall I'm much better... I guess that's why I'm noticing this so much. And to think this was the normal state of affairs before I started seeing an allergist! I shall cling to that thin ray of sunshine as I order new hepafilters and crawl into bed.

I'm ready for my plastic bubble now, thanks.

Ouch. You have my sympathies. I've had some killer headaches before, but I was lucky and they were the kind that responds to aspirin really well. But I know how extremely Not Fun headaches can be. I hope you find something that can get rid of them for you.

*hugs* Seems like it's been a really terrible allergy season this year. Over the past couple months, I've had allergy symptoms I've never experienced before -- I'm right with you on the eyes. Hope the meds kick in soon and you start feeling better!

My poor dd is having the same problems and her allergy meds don't seem to be making a dent in it.

What's weird is that I am the one with far worse allergies and I've actually been BETTER than usual, while she is so much worse. She hasn't been able to wear her contacts for 2 weeks now.

Oh thanks! For some reason knowing I'm not the only one freakishly affected makes me feel a bit better. Not that I want other people to be miserable, but... you know LOL.
