Rough Week
Apr. 25th, 2008 06:24 pmOn the bad side, ultra busy with a dose of high-powered meeting stress and a case asploding in my face to the tune of 7.75 million dollars.
Um, yeah. Long story that should never see the light of day.
On the good side, I finally got up the gumption to ride the bus to work. What a nice bus! With the nicest bus drivers in the universe! My normal commute is a mere 10 miles, but oh that ten miles runs me at least 30 minutes and can get as bad as 45 minutes on a bad day. Commuter frustration has been rising to the red zone level, and with the price of gas ($4 per gallon in my area) through the roof right along with my temper... bus it is.
Like I said, nice bus. It runs right along the coastline and deposits me a less than 10 minute walk from work. And the best thing? I can ride my bike to the bus stop, then get off early and ride the beach bike path home. In fact, just tonight I practiced using the bus-mounted bike rack thingie and now I'm ready to go.
Why on earth this scheme has not occurred to me before is beyond me. Bumper-to-bumper surface street traffic or the Pacific Ocean? Not such a tough choice.
