This Sucketh Royally
Jul. 2nd, 2006 12:40 amThis afternoon, I settled in to a game of Master of Magic - old DOS strategy game. Been playing for ... um, a looong time. And suddenly, the laptop screen seems to burn white, and the computer stops responding. Burned white screen, complete with shades of grey vertical stripes are now all I can see on my laptop screen.
I am not happy.
Plugged it in to an LCD monitor, the computer part works just fine. Okay, that's good. But now what?
I bought it refurbished from Tiger Direct, and purchased an extended warranty -- but I'm pretty sure I only bought a year's worth and the thing is a few months out of warranty. And the tiger website is down so I can't check my records to be sure. Sigh. But I want to know RIGHT NOW!!!!
Huh. Looks like I'll have to actually take it for repair. I guess Best Buy. I've never actually taken a computer for repair.
But the laptop is a necessity since I'm going on vacation in late August and simply MUST have a platform with which to store the tens of gigs of digital photos I'm planning on taking.
Grr.
